The Brief
Shoreline Restaurant overhangs Paignton Eastern Esplanade. The columns, beams and soffit were showing signs of steel reinforcement corrosion caused by the aggressive sea side environment.
The Solution
Following acoustic hammer testing to identify defective areas, traditional concrete repairs were carried out. Using the Mapei Repair system. To protect against further corrosion sacrificial anodes were fitted to some of the larger repairs and all of the concrete elements were treated with an anti carbonation coating.
