The Brief

SWCR were asked to carry out traditional concrete repairs to the edges and corners of the balconies, and to grind off paint and recoat some lintels. The works had to be carried out in two phases to allow for the scaffolding movement between elevations.

The Solution

The defective concrete was removed using mechanical breakers and edges cut with grinders. The steel reinforcement cleaned and treated. Timber shuttering erected where necessary and repairs carried out using concrete repair mortars. The lintels had the existing paint removed off using diamond grinding cups and needle guns and then application of a leveling coating was applied to give additional concrete cover.
